The art of hand crafted nasal snuff has been long forgotten. Once the most widely used form, it was known to be used by royalty and poor citizens alike.

Gadsden Artisan Mill is a hobbyist of snuff, and specialize in small batches of snuff from our own recipes and strive to make a superior product based on testimonials, reviews and opinions of our snuff.

In Late 2010 we began crafting our own nasal snuff and strive to master a completely enjoyable product. We hand grind all of our snuff, and thus classify our flavored snuffs (snuff with a topping or casing) as an "artisan medium grind" and our natural snuffs (no carrier used) as an "artisan fine grind", All of our snuff is made  using all natural high purity essential oils that are naturally derived from  local plants when possible, and bought through commercial retailers when we are not able to make them ourselves, this is done without the use of dyes or preservatives and only natural spirits as a carrier/moistening agent.  These features do come with a certain value and cost, which is reflected in our product. In late 2017 we reformulated our snuff and tobacco to conform more so to our customers desires and have received terrific feed back from the changes.

in early 2018 we also started making hand crafted brass snuff spoons, which allows us to fill our time in between batches.

Sifting

Per request - we have began double sifting all blends to ensure the most consistency in particle size possible. Certain blends such as our fine scotches are even triple and quadruple sifter to insure their fluffy characteristics. All varieties are also sifted after casings are added, to achieve uniform dispersion.

Small Batches

Although this adds to cost, it allows us to make changes and new recipes faster and keep in tune with other snuff users, as to their desires for new blends.

All natural casing oils

When ever possible, we make our own tinctures, extracts or flavor oils. In the event we don't have the ability to obtain it from local plants, we purchase food grade components and carriers.

We love the classic commercials we saw on our parents and grand parents TV, that classic New England accent, that over selling of every quality of their product. We've gone with this and created some of our own art to entertain our patrons.
